I’ve been for dinner 2-3 times now and love this spot for their burger, fried cheese curds and crispy brussel sprouts! The atmosphere is great and they have indoor + outdoor seating. Last weekend I went for brunch and loved the southwest eggs benedict and the Irish coffee. Prices are reasonable for most items and it’s easy to reserve a table online. Super cute place for a girls day out! I will definitely be back to check out the balcony once it warms up.
Title: Unpleasant Dining Experience with Subpar Service
⭐️
I had high hopes for this restaurant after hearing positive reviews, but my recent experience has left me with no desire to return. Despite attempting to dine here several times, I was surprised to find that reservations were mandatory even when there were visibly open tables.
For our reservation, a party of five, we were seated uncomfortably close to another table, despite open round tables by the window being available. Oddly, those tables were occupied by a party of two. The seating arrangement was less than ideal, and it set the tone for what was to come.
Our disappointment continued when three of us ordered fried chicken and I opted for the fried grouper. My son's first bite into his fried chicken revealed a raw and tough interior, prompting us to send it back. The replacement was better, but my own fried grouper sandwich presented a similar problem. The inside separated from the burnt fry, and the inside was raw. Despite my ruined appetite, I chose not to send it back.
To add to our dismay, the manager failed to address the issue with us, leaving a sense of neglect. We had to proactively ask for the grouper to be removed from the bill. It felt as if they had forgotten to prepare our plates and hastily cooked our meals, with the grease likely being too hot, resulting in burnt exteriors and raw interiors.
I've included pictures with arrows highlighting the raw inside and circles indicating hard pieces of fry that separated from the grouper. The lack of managerial intervention and the overall poor dining experience have solidified my decision not to return to this restaurant. Hopefully, this review serves as constructive feedback for improvement.
Had a business lunch here with a group of 4 - was able to grab a table without a reservation on a weekday. Fairly busy and a little loud inside. All the food was delicious. Brussels and curds were great appetizers. I had the salmon and the whole plate was gone when I left. Outside seating if the weather is favorable. Would recommend!
I was craving a cheeseburger so we came here. We had the bacon cheeseburger that was on the menu and split an order of pork buns. We sat at the bar and ordered stellas. The food was phenomenal. Bartender Sydney’s service was impeccable. No wait and she was proactive. The atmosphere was comfortable. The restaurant was full but you did not feel crowded in or squeezed in like sardines. Definitely recommend.
Stopped in for a late afternoon bite before heading to the airport. The decor was nice and space open and airy but it was so incredibly hot at the bar. In hindsight, as much as I want to sit at the bar, it was 15 degrees warmer from back of the restaurant to the front. This heat made an impression on the entire visit.
Overall though, the food was pretty good. The pork steam buns (2 for $9) were very tasty. The crispy grouper sandwich was great and had a nice zip of heat from the Thai chili coconut slaw. Sadly the brussel sprouts (upgraded from fries) were fried to hell. It was unfortunate I had to pay more for that mess! The Monday special red beans & rice were good though (except that hushpuppy), definitely a deal at $5. You could add fried chicken or sausage for an additional fee.
The service at the bar was great. My water glass rarely got empty (thankfully) and the food came out relatively quick. Granted, they weren't that busy at the time.
Overall a solid spot and one I'd hit-up again if in the area. I'd just sit in the back and skip those brussels!
Service was great and the atmosphere is lovely. I noticed that some of the seating was not properly wiped down when we were being seated, so that was disappointing. I got a French 75, and I really enjoyed my drink. However, my partner got a Maker's on the rocks and he noticed that his drink didn't smell right. His glass still had soap residue on it. With regards to food, the broccoli cauliflower dish was really great! (see photo) My partner got the salmon, and he liked it. A lot of great things at this place, but for the price I expected more attention to detail with the general cleanliness and the quality of the food.
I came here alone bc I was waiting on my husband’s flight to get in. Such a great experience. I was super nervous to go somewhere by myself, but the server did not make me feel weird at all. She gave great service and helped me decide since …
The atmosphere is nice however the food was super spicy. Nowhere on the menu did it say this was spicy and I couldn’t eat it. Fries good, food incredibly spicy and not labeled as such. Had to replace this with Brussel sprouts where were ok a little over roasted but the sauce was amazing!
